Home Energy Assessments
Why have a Home Energy Assessment?
A Home Energy Assessment is the first step you need to take to lower your home’s carbon emissions and reduce your personal impact on climate change.
It doesn’t matter whether you rent or own your own home, Home Green can provide practical and effective suggestions to:
- improve your household energy efficiency
- reduce your impact on climate change, and
- save you money!
What does a Home Sustainability Assessment involve?
We conduct a physical inspection of a household and its’ associated energy and water systems. We consider thermal comfort, water heating and efficiency, lighting, refrigeration, cooking, entertainment and waste management.
We gather general information about the way people interact with their home. The data we collect is entered into a sophisticated assessment software tool to allow environmental impact calculations.
Throughout the process we provide a range of practical suggestions and solutions to help improve household efficiency and sustainability.
How long will it take?
Assessments usually take between 1 and 2 hours to complete. The length of the assessment will depend on the size of the house, the availability of the information required and the number of energy and water systems to be considered.
What are the benefits?
Save money
Running an Australian household is an expensive affair. Indoor and outdoor water use, running household appliances and the constant need to heat and cool our living spaces eats up a sizeable chunk of the typical household budget.
At Home Green, improving household efficiency and reducing household running costs is our area of expertise. We provide practical suggestions and guidance that can help to significantly lower the costs of running your home.

Each state has its own green rebate scheme for local households. It may even be possible to claim both a state and federal rebate on certain items.
During your Home Energy Assessment, we can provide you with all the information you will need to make the most of any rebates and cost-saving opportunities available to you.
